We recently had the pleasure of celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary at the Catalonia Magdalenes hotel, and I am thrilled to share my positive experience with you. From start to finish, our stay was absolutely superb, leaving us with unforgettable memories. First and foremost, the hotel's breakfast was a delightful experience each morning. The spread offered an array of fresh and delicious options, ensuring a perfect start to our days of celebration. The variety and quality of the food exceeded our expectations, and we truly appreciated the abundance of choices available. Our room was both stylish and cosy, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Every detail was meticulously taken care of, from the tasteful decor to the comfortable furnishings. We felt pampered and relaxed, enjoying the lovely ambience created within our private sanctuary. The staff at Catalonia Magdalenes truly stood out with their friendly and attentive service. They went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met and that our anniversary stay was exceptional. Their warmth and willingness to assist with any request made us feel like valued guests throughout our entire stay. As a delightful surprise, we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival. It was a thoughtful gesture that added an extra touch of celebration to our special occasion. Additionally, the lovely chocolates provided each day were a sweet indulgence that made us feel truly pampered. The hotel's facilities, including the rooftop pool and spa, were impeccable. The cleanliness and maintenance of these areas were evident, creating a serene and relaxing environment. We took advantage of the rooftop pool, soaking in the breathtaking views while enjoying a refreshing swim. The spa, too, provided a haven of tranquillity, allowing us to unwind and rejuvenate during our anniversary getaway.

In a quiet street in the Gothic quarter. 5 minutes to the Ramblas 2 minutes from the Cathedral etc. The staff were impeccably trained and extremely attentive without being intrusive or condescending. The hotel was extremely well appointed with unusual features like the rock sculptures you can see under the glass floor which you could walk over in the lobby. Impressive very tall central atrium with a plethora of hanging lights and a sculptured wall. The room was outstanding in size and little touches. Calm colouring - white with taupe/mushroom coloured relief walls covered in linen style patterned paper. Although I had not told the hotel it was my birthday, they obviously picked this up from my passport and sent up a bottle of champage and cake to the room. Little things make a difference!

Rooftop pool a real bonus and not too busy in April. Spa pool also lovely. We didn't have breakfast as it seemed expensive and there are so many great alternative places to go nearby. Our cleaner was excellent. Do try the Vermouth/Tapas Bar just metres away, Bodega del Vermut, it was great!
